He might have lost his nerve; as it was, this was his third attempt. Make it lucky, huh?

Boone knelt gracefully, one knee, the box still held between them and his smile was soft as he looked up at her. The words came easily because this was Abbie, "meeting you... and falling in love with you, you don't know how happy that's made me. Every day."
Oh, god - don't back out now!
"...Before I met you, Abbie - I was just worried about what my next work deal was going to be, if I had to live up the expectations of people around me, but.. now what matters most is, what you think of me. I want you to be with me, forever, love me forever like I.. I know I will, for you..."
Taking another soft, swift breath, he opened the box up, the soft light catching on the diamonds adjourning the band inside. It was his third choice. Lucky, he hoped.

AJ's known for quite a while that Boone was the only man for her - although it took so much courage to admit it to herself, and then to admit it to him - he's been amazing and wonderful every step of the way. Truth be told, she couldn't imagine spending her life without him.
So, she doesn't even need to think about her answer, even as she's gazing at the most beautiful ring she's ever seen, and that nervous, endearing smile.
AJ nods, and then laughs, whooping in delight. "Yes! Yes - of course I'll marry you!"
