Okay, so I'm thinking Michael must be looking up supernatural stuff that might help with Mia's illness and all, even if she'd yell at him for messing with that kind of thing. Maybe he came across some healing spell that promises to 'turn back the clock' on diseases, only what it really does is make you younger. And add some slight screwing up with the spell and it'd make Mike younger too.
