Books are great...when they aren't spoiled.

I learned today (the hard way, mind you) that I cannot mention Harry Potter to anyone at all until I have finished reading the remaining three books, unless I would like to have them ruined for me. I have also made the decision that, in the future when new ones are released, I will read them the night they come out, or do my best to have absolutely no human contact until I have finished them.

Seriously. Like 5 different people told me about 20 different things today that I didn't yet know about the Harry Potter books. They weren't all intentional, so I'm not angry at them, but it sucks no less.

Yes, I am very picky about having things spoiled for me, and it seems that humans are very intent on doing anything that they know peeves someone else, and if not that, they accidentally let things slip, so either way, no further discussion of Potter-like things from me until I finish up the books, which sucks, because then, if I think I know where it's going, I can't tell anyone what I think, and then, when I say after reading it that I knew it was going to happen, people will just say, "Oh, suuure you did."

Fuck you, catch 22.

There's another book I still haven't read. Heller's Catch 22.

ruined, potter
