Shanghai'ed

Apr 26, 2007 05:55

For such a modern city, it's surprisingly hard to find a cafe with Wi-Fi in Shanghai.
Which of course means I spend less time online, which in theory is good, but in practice? I've got a stupid Rural Economics paper that I need to finish, and I need my internet to do it.
Of course, now that I know where it is, I can go back tomorrow. But still...
Also, while I think the thesis of my paper (that, over all, the rural poor of China have it better than lots of other people) is sound... well, it's hard to really expound on it for eight pages without it turning into a list of everything that's wrong with Africa.
I hate homework, basically, and I hate it more when it's a long paper and when I'm in China, and I hate it most of all when it's a long paper for a class I can't stand while I'm technically on vacation in China.
On the other hand? I've hugged pandas and visited tropical paradise (aka: Yangshou). So, I shouldn't be complaining.
Heh. Like that'll stop me.
So, how're you?

china, paper, waste
