DI Globals/School/Thespian Picnic/Fonies - A Review

Foreword
This may be awkward due to my tardiness in writing upon the subject of DI Globals, which actually took place during a hectic week before this one. However, I humbly beg the reader of whichever gender to bear with this result of apathy.

Destination Imagination: Global Tournament
Overview
Destination Imagination is an international organization based in the United States which is dedicated to creative and enjoyable problem-solving in a theatrical enviroment, mainly targeted toward minors. My team, of long standing, is somewhat of a California frontrunner, having gone to Globals twice prior to this event and having snagged another guaranteed trip through first place at State despite a lack-luster Regional second out of three.
Flight: 23rd
On Tuesday the twenty-third of May, my team met up at 5 AM for transport to the airport. The Cardosi and Wollman parents drew the short straw and were traveling with us to the tournament, our support and protectors until the predicted return. The flight was uneventful- Chris watched Brokeback Mountain and I listened to the entire sub-par music library of the onboard system. Upon landing in Georgia we hijacked two vehicles and drove up to Knoxville, Tennessee while viewing the film Oliver.
Body: 24th - 27th
We laughed, we cried. I suffered from food poisoning, lost my identification, fell on an elevator, forgot some props back in California. On the other hand, I met some new people and had a little fun social displacement in a new pool. We completed our Instant Challenge on Friday and performed last in our age group on Saturday to a rather full theatre. Placement? Tied with two other teams for 15th out of 68, world wide.
Return: 28th
Chris watched Junebug on the flight, and we finished Oliver in the car- as well as the quite brilliant Inherit The Wind. Upon arrival we were mostly dead if superficially warm, and remained that way until the next forsaken day.

Finals & Senior Check Out
Finals
The pendulum swung alarmingly to both extremes... painting an audible image of the verdict. Dare I read it... valedictorian?
Senior Check Out
The fool shall return to his prior residence, despite fire, for the hope of a small trinket or heirloom. The wise man returns only for love, self-realization, or quite possibly sex. I'm not sure where I lie upon that scale, as I desire some additional signatures in my essentially empty yearbook...

Thespian Activities
Thespian Picnic
The picnic had a very few good moments. I engaged in rigorous swordplay with many men, of the swinging foam object variety, and though I suffered my fair share of chest and groin damage, I enjoyed it immensely, much like a small feline rolling in the catnip patch that happens to be the target of a warm light ray. I saw Anna Westendorf, Bradley, Susan Oldfield... people I might have to spend much more time with. Conversely, other presences drained me, and I was demonstratively ill.
Thespian Awards
What is the value of a nomination if the nominee is excluded? My mind and body were adverse to sustained presence in the Auditorium- but I endured. Didn't correct reality, unfortunately. I believe I need a different personality to accomplish that- but such would make this current necessity irrelevant. Alexa won two awards, and I was fleetingly proud in her place, though I decided not to collect them for her.
