Beltane Film

May 07, 2007 07:31

OK, first of all, the drunken revelers at Belltane Saturday night left the front doors open and our cat, Buck, got out. He was pretty much beyond reach until we stepped out the front door yesterday at dusk just in time to see a small black and white blur being chased, I'm not making this up, by a lovely Grey Fox!!! Textile Tart and I chased the Fox around the driveway and he actually stopped and looked at T-tart and I for a few seconds... Just beautiful, we got a good long look at him on open ground. He actually seemed curious about us for a few seconds before he disappeared into the underbrush by the swamp.

Funny, as many of you may know, I'm kinda into Foxes in a totemic sort of way, and I'd been sort of thinking I'd see one, but I didn't expect it to come to the front freaking door! I'm talking less than 10 feet. In the end we got Buck in safely, and of course I feel very good about this close encounter with nature now that I know the little cat has not been reduced to Fox chow.

Anyhow more stuff up in the last few weeks over at Skookumchuck Notebook:

Not the least of which skookumchuck content is a short film of the Nemeton retreat that Deb and I [a-hem!] chaperoned for back in April. Takes a few minutes to download and I had to compress it to the size of a postage stamp, but it is my first film and it was a labor of love.

beltane, fox, foxes
