So I was not admitted to Berkeley, which didn't much surprise me. I was a little surprised and disappointed to find out on Friday that UCLA had rejected me, however. To a degree, I'm irritated that I went out of my way to meet the faculty and work so hard on connecting to the program (though the experience of going to the campus, sitting in on the graduate seminar and talking to the students there was worth it alone, I feel) only to be dismissed when Geary, the dude I was trying to work with above every other professor in the nation, oversaw my rejection (he was in charge of admissions this year). So yeah, when I think about it, I'm a little pissed off.
I'm not too broken up about Berkeley, considering Geoffrey Koziol (the prof I would have studied under) is supposed to be a pretentious asshole anyway.
So the tally thus far is:
Berkeley: No
UCLA: No
Minnesota: No
Wisconsin: Yes
Still waiting on word from:

UC Santa Barbara
