The Despair Of An Age

Jan 16, 2018 17:26

I sit here in despair because you do not hear,
You do not hear your children crying,
You do not hear your children dying,
You do not hear your children begging,
They need protection, you abandon them,
They need strength, You belittle them,
They need love, You show hatred to them,
So I sit here in despair.

I've witnessed the good of this world,
But rarely is it seen,
More so we see the devil in this world,
Lifting his angry hand,
I stand with my head high because I know
My own truth,
I've seen this world at it's greatest,
Now I find it at it's ugliest moment.

You have forgotten your truth,
You have forgotten your own spoken king,
You have turned your backs on his teachings,
You preach it well but stumble at the actual walking,
I despair as I know no other way of dealing with it,
I despair as I see no end in sight.

Here we are on a great mans day of birth,
Here we stand saluting his valiant life,
Whilst at the same time destroying his legacy,
This hatred for the colour of skin is inbred in this society,
It has to stop.

Remember your preaching’s and remember them well,
For this sinner will surely see you in hell,
I carry a different faith in my heart, I know a different truth,
One you abandoned but remember it well,
So watch as the sun rises and falls,
These days lead to nights unto the end,
And say as you will, See as you do,
In darkness and in light I will always fight against you,
For I despair for what has become of this world,
We are all the same and you will soon find that truth.

My heart to those whom hatred touches,
For when it does I too suffer with you,
I do not care what we view makes us different,
For you and I are the same,
My hand and heart I pledge to this battle,
I will not let you down.
