I'm still way too entertained by "visiting shops where you can eat sweets." I mean. Does he just loom ominously, like the Ghost of Toothache Yet To Come?
I KNOW. I mean. I guess eats sweets, too, since he does eat dango that one time in canon. But. You still kind of get this mental image of him going into sweet shops looming. Because the stat doesn't say he goes to eat the sweets. It just says he like. Visits.
Yeah. I mean, you'd think "eating sweets" would be different, right? Maybe he buys them for Sasuke or something.
....and now I have this slightly heartbreaking image of a drawer in his room in...wherever Akatsuki go when they're not being generically evil...filled to overflowing with random sweet things he's collected out of habit and then stored away and forgotten.
Sasuke doesn't like sweets. )8 At least not any more. Maybe he did once. I think Biz plays him as having liked sweets as a child with Itachi, but when Itachi betrayed him he lost his taste for them. )':
.....And wow, yeah, that is heartbreaking. T_T But would make sense in a horribly depressing way. I COULD SEE HIM DOING IT.
Also, I don't know, could EATING sweets be considered hobby? ...But then again I never thought of visiting candy shops to be a hobby in itself until the databook came out, so.
That makes sense. O Sasuke. Why you gotta be emo...oh, well, okay, that.
....yeah so could I. ): And then my brain supplies the image of Sasuke FINDING that drawer after Itachi's dead and augh, brain, stop being horribly depressing, seriously. WHAT DID I DO TO YOU.
...I don't really think it's one either. I'd say "maybe in Japan it's a social thing" but. Itachi.
Mmm, I can see it in a certain way. There's a craftsmanship to making some sweets; it's entirely possible he liked watching the sweets be created.
. . . and looming, yes. I can imagine the poor confectioners sweating as they work, afraid that the ninja in the corner is going to skewer them like their taffy sculptures if they don't get it perfect.

It's like incentive! In a terrible sort of way.

That would make a good drabble or something, but I would depress myself writing it.
Yeah. I can't imagine it being a social thing for Itachi. XD I could definitely see it being related to nostalgia, though.
...Or like Wilhelm says he might have enjoyed watching the craft itself.
Maybe both!

....yeah, same here. I briefly considered it but was like "....nah, November's depressing enough already. :|"
I could see both. Craftsmanship and nostalgia.

And, yes, so could I.
And I get this image of like. Him being late to Akatsuki meetings sometimes.
Pain: Where's Itachi?
Kisame: Being emo in the candy shop again.
