I have been home fro Aus for two weeks. Loved it. Toilet flushing theory...BUSTED. Does not happen, in fact, all toilets in Aus are low-flow due to a huge drought so it was hard to find one that actually did it. People from Lebanon are their mexicans. They have all the jobs and the aussies just keep complaining about them. Kangaroos are like squirrels their. They pop up anywhere, not like downtown, but in the suburbs. Their were five of us, four with cameras, so you know I have a lot pictures. The food is more international, amazing asian foods and french pastries, not much authentic aussie cuisine, except of course for kangaroo burgers...yep.
Now back in the states, I am student teaching at the same high school i did with my preinternship with, same teacher too. I have 3 Alg I classes, and 2 Intensive Math classes (kids who cant pass the standardized tests)It's frightening right now, still trying to learn names, but I love the fact that I am doing what I have been spending countless hours sitting in classrooms being taught how to do. Plus my teacher has planning during 1st and 2nd period, so I dont have to be there until 9!
Stuff has been really hectic lately. Lots of tests to take in order to graduate, as well as get into graduate school. Trying to manage having a social life when Im ready to be in bed by ten, especially hard when my girlfriend works until 1am, so I basically never sleep :).
Let me know how Chrissy was, sucks in Aus, they celebrate boxing day more. New Years was amazing, entire city of Sydney was a party zone. Chris got WASTED! He loved being legal at 18.
