Trying to read fanfiction...

Jul 02, 2004 09:59

...at the moment is like trying to pull teeth. I am right in the middle of Ann Margaret's excellent "Hermione Granger and the Time of Troubles" and all of sudden NOT A SINGLE PAGE of Schnoogle or FictionAlley will load. WHAT IS THE DEAL?

This after Checkmated being down all day yesterday when I had just started reading a couple of stories there.

Maybe God or whoever is trying to tell me to quite slacking off and finish Chapter 33, or something?

On that note...I feel like I need a whole set of climbing gear to get over the hump that is "Part II" of Chapter 33. The first eleven or twelve pages flowed just fine and now, just when I'm getting ready to send Ron and Hermione to the Grangers for the Christmas, the Demon Procrastinator is thwapping me about the head or something. I just can't. seem. to. write.!

Of course, this is why, when I'm having writers' block issues, I like to read other fanfics. NO, not to steal ideas, thank you (well, if they're really good I will borrow one here or there and give the author all due credit, of course!) but mainly to clear my cluttered head and focus on something else.

By the way, am I the only one having trouble putting icons up by my name? Because, see, I tried to make this really cool Rupert one a couple of days ago, and I got it down to the right size specs and everything and the stupid file wouldn't load, or something.

Computers really do suck sometimes. Or maybe it's just me.
