...I THINK, anyway, to having a puppy. Thank god for my husband--he volunteered to take Lucy out for her "midnight run" (translation: middle of the night potty break). I took Lucy today to Princeton and walked her around and she was a huge hit, but I wasn't surprised: she's absurdly cute.
Haven't even THOUGHT about writing. I hope to maybe squeeze in something tomorrow. Possibly, but...if I get a page or two going I'll be lucky. I have to beta my Checkmated chapter first for another author, and with my free time limited these days...ah, well. I do feel bad for the people wondering when the hell I'm going to update "Devil." The answer is, shit, I don't know. I'm only just now getting an idea of where to take that story. Problem is, since HBP came out I feel a bit weird writing what is so obviously an AU, particularly considering what a canon slut I am in most ways. Still, the new canon has an upshot for me: it has given me a few ideas to play with regarding Lucius's nefarious plot. We'll see how it goes.
Meantime, I do want to get "Werewolf and Metamorph" back up to speed and add the new canon in. I have to say, I'm more psyched about R/T in canon than I thought I would be. When I started shipping it, it was one of those, "this is a nice ship" sort of things. I figured it probably wouldn't happen in canon, and I was really pleasantly surprised that it did. Not only because I pretty much hate R/S, which to me is a distant second--but still second--to H/Hr in the whole "omgtheirloveissocanon" stuff. I never thought R/S was even remotely debatable, because I never thought Remus or Sirius was gay, but I figured even if they were they wouldn't have necessarily been lovers while in school. I mean, there WAS that whole nasty "let's use werewolf!Remus to fuck up Snape's world" plot, which to me declared more firmly than anything else that R/S was NOT going on, and if it were, then Remus was one fucked up, co-dependent, desperate dude, to want to shag a guy who cared so little for his feelings.
Anyway, bedtime. More puppy adventures tomorrow, but hopefully a few adventures in writing as well!
