Personally, I'm convinced that if Nia was the Anti-Spirals avatar, Kamina might have very well been the Spirals' avatar. However, if there's an AU plot I'm fond of, if the one where Kamina is choosen as the Anti-Spiral Messenger instead of Nia. well, he could've made a good messenger, I think. He's got a deep bond with Simon, and could be used as levergae against him. He's got an incredible amount of spiral power himself; poer that he exausted in a most peculiar way, and could've turned into Anti-Spiral energy after he died, etc.
I've been working on a drawing of Messenger Kamina/Anti-Spiral Kamina for quite some time, but it was very unsatisfactory. *pulls lips in a frown*
So I made a quick sketch today, depicting Kamina as the Messenger. This scene happens for real in the anime; obviously, with Nia in Kamina's position, but it *does* happen.

A/N: Simon is being judged for war crimes (he didn't commit!!!) by his best friend, Rossiu. As he hears the judgment, he tips his head back and gazes despairingly into the ligh shining on him from above. Silently, he asks Kamina what he would've done, how he would've reacted. When he lowers hie head and open his eyes, Nia stands before him - in my pic, Kamina does - and cradles his face, speaking to him...

Also, a modified version for the LULZ. *grins* All the Dai-Gurren Brigade was there when Simon was judged, right? So they saw Kamina and Simon and their ZOMG-looks-like-a-kiss dialogue shown above. So I chibified Rossiu and Kittan and added them to the mix. *GRIN*
