Capcom's 'obvious subtlety' as Cat affectionately calls it, strikes AGAIN.
In the late '90s, classic Super Nintendo game "Rockman X 3" was remixed and re-released for the Sega Saturn and Sony PlayStation, featuring FMV sequences.
Allow me to rephrase that: subtly Zero/X FMV sequences.
Alas! I can't seem able to put my hands on the animated sequences in their entirety, but there's a niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice, if small and B/W recap in the Japanese staff roll.
Timing 0:02 - Sleeping Beauty's bed, I mean! A sleeping Snowhite's coffin, no! I mean, X's capsule, the one his father put him in to sleep for a century.
Timing 0:28 Prince Charming Zero. X can be seen a few seconds before him, looking around... uhm... I wonder what he's searching for, and if this takes place during the game or is a memory... it might be. If we're shown X waking up, why not X meeting Zero the first time? It wasn't on the SNES game, but you never know...
Timing 0:37 X in deep sh--trouble. TROUBLE.
Timing 0:45 Prince Charming Zero to the rescue. Please notice the light effect. Please. It spells I-love-you-you-love-me in all languages known to man (and then some). The "gazing into each other's eyes and smiling" routine also helps to further ground the concept home.
Timing 1:25 Sleeping Beauty awakens. Err... I mean, X does.
Timing 4:16 Happily Ever After or, Skipping Off towards the Sunset.
