Summary: And every time She changed, everything around Her remained the same. Only worse.

When She was a child She told Her Father: “I abhor war,” pressing Her shaking hands to Her little bosom. But Her Uncle hungered for it, and She alone could stop Him, and so to war She went.
When it was over, She told Her Saints: “You can rest,” but a warrior’s rest lies beyond death, and death was Her Uncle’s realm, and He would not grant His enemies a peaceful sleep. So She bound their souls to Hers, and human She became.
When She was human, She met a boy, and thought: “I am in love.” But She was the Eternal Maiden, to whom Love was not permitted. So She held her tongue, and watched him lose his life over and over in Her name, and was heartbroken.
When She was heartbroken, and victorious and sorrowful in the aftermath of a War or the other, She would clutch Pegasus’s dead body to her bosom, and wait for the vicious circle of their reincarnations to start anew.
