You might have gathered by now, that I'm obsessed I really like the Megaman Rock Opera. I am, in fact, head over heels in love with a devoted follower of a rabid worshipper of an otakunerdextraordinnaire a fan of the band who's authored the ZOMG!PERFECTION BLISS CD:
The Protomen. (So much so that my mom has all but ordered me to go to the US ans see their next live performance. XD;;; Who's in? *bats eyelashes prettily*)
ACT II of the Rock Opera is in the making - has been for a couple o' years, really - and finally, finally, The Protomen graciously gave us starved maniacs stalkers not one, but TWO new singles.
One is
Breaking Out, which has been around for a few monthsd already, and it's LOVE.
The other, more recent single, is
Father of Death (this is only a short demo, to which I've listened to only twice, but I HAD to share the news...).
The Protomen are TEH source of my inspiration (though I somehow don't THINK they'd be really flattered if they knew that. *hides face* *pictures sef dismembered by the mob of Protomen fans who don't like Rockman slash/shounen-ai/yaoi*). I've been dreaming to make a doujin out of their song "The Sons of Fate" for months, (but I can't get over the fact I should draw Proto visor-less XD;;), I wake up humming their songs (I SWEAR I do. Crazy, mh?) and go to sleep doing the same. I LOVE them.
My favourite songs by them are - in rigorous random order - "The Will of One", "The Sons of Fate", "Breaking Out" and "The Stand"... though I can't resist singing "Hope rides Alone" along when it pops up in my MP3 player/CD player/Windows Media Player. X>;;
I've wanted to make a post - with links - about them for ages, and their new single just gave me the perfect opportunity. ♥ Give them a chance, and listen to the ACT I - even if you're not a Megaman/Rockman fan, the tale as they'we rewritten it is powerful, deep and moving on its own, talking of universal, if bitter truths. I think I love *their* Megaman way more than the original Capcom one... I especially love him at the end of "The Sons of Fate". His words. His reaction. His sorrow. *clings to Mega*
