Maxis Taste Dare #26: The Summerdream Family

Feb 12, 2012 20:21

The Summerdreams never did hold a lot of appeal with me. I've tried playing them several times, but with no amount of success, I've never even made it to growing Bottom up to teen. The Second Chance Dare seemed like the perfect opportunity to do just that!

The Summerdreams, made over:

And in a new house too; I have a feeling their original one is the main reason I've never liked playing them. It is bloody awful.

I don't think Bottom much likes me focusing on her... do your homework young lady!

The family does kinda whatever most of the time. I stomped on my micromanaging OCD to get a feel for the family without me interfering too much. And it turned out I do like watching them, they're a sweet bunch.

Almost sickeningly so. Which inevitably led to:

A pregnant Titania. Bottom is unfazed by her mother inhaling food through her nose.

I didn't plan on them having another kid (the age difference between the kids will irk me greatly), but Titania, Oberon and ACR had different plans.

While Oberon works and Titania sleeps in both food, on couches, the floor, and sometimes even in her bed, the kids do most of the work around the house and the garden. Puck is no fan of this.

And suddenly: Hurray, birthday!

Bottom is pretty. In a slightly angry kind of way. She rolled Family, and I couldn't be bothered to write down her LTW, so I have no idea what it is.

Blonde Townie clearly hates me for dragging him away from the precious bubbleblower to play chess with a teen girl. Especially when said teen girl beats him at said game.

Back home, Titania gives birth in the upstairs hallway. Neither bathroom, bedroom nor too cramped for picture taking: I like your style Titania. Keep it up.

It's a girl, whom my random name generator decided should be called Perdita. Which is a kinda neat coincidence, since that too is a Shakespearean name.

Oberon makes an apperance! Hiii Oberon!

The days go by, it turns autumn, and Titania and Perdita spend a quiet evening in, celebrating her transition into toddlerhood.

She looks sort of odd. I love odd. Great incentive to keep playing the family; I want to see how she turns out when she grows up.

Titania and Oberon are still cute (but no more babies you two!).

And this update ends with a scenic shot of Puck going to college.

I kinda learned to love this family. So I guess the dare was successful.
