EU Attacks Microsoft.
Ok this is bullshit. Microsoft is solely responsible for making PC's better than Mac's. (though some disagree, they are wrong.) Microsoft has led this economy and the world's into new era's of automation. It has made life easier for millions around the world. And in so doing as mad shit tons of money. So people tried to jump on that money train. They couldn't compete because Microsoft is too big and powerful. I think thats bullshit. Microsoft has included media player ever since multimedia computers were made. Its not a great program. I hate it. But alot of people like it.
Now lets get into a situation.
Microsoft includes Media Player with windows. People like not having to pay extra to be able to listen to a CD on their computer.
Apple includes Itunes with Ipod. People like not paying extra to load their ipod with music.
Microsoft expands Media Player to play video files and show pictures. People like that their computers come with this.
Apple expands Itunes to include video files for Ipod video. People like that their ipods can do this.
Microsoft get attacked for having a monopoly. Competing companies can't make the millions that microsoft can because Microsoft includes a media player so people don't buy the competing player.
Apple never gets attacked. People love the Ipod. Itunes is proprietary. It creates a music format that only Ipods and Itunes can play. People no longer have MP3 players. All MP3 players are called Ipods. Pod casting becomes the accepted wording for streaming audio and/or video. Apple uses its supremecy to move into the Cell Phone business. Iphones immediately become the hottest item in that market. People love it. they want more i products from Apple.
Microsoft gets ordered to give out its source code on its software. It has to give away its secrets.
Apple still has control over thier proprietary osftware meanwhile companies like Creative can't compete in teh MP3 market
So either both at evil or both are good.
Apple and Microsoft should be hailed in creating an arms race in their respective fields. It has forced companies to be inventive to try and compete. Just look at Firefox vs Internet Explorer. Mozilla created a great browser. Microsoft saw the feature people loved about it and emulated it. Do you think you owuld have tabbed browsing in IE7 if it weren't for Mozilla?
