Seven Seconds Away . . .

Seems a very "current" episode, especially with the news story that still dominates in the UK.

Parents running demented looking for their child, being bewildered, angry, desperate - that was harrowing. And horribly familiar to any parent that has lost sight of a child for even a few seconds.

Great use of the "cognitive interview" as well. Proper police technique that is based on proper research (Geiselman & Fisher) and using the encoding specificity principle - if we can present the cues that were present when the memories were formed (encoding), then we can enhance our recollection (retrieval). Very nicely done.

Nice to see Reid - who is always "the kid" - playing the grown up to a real kid. Yes, of course you've grown out of being awkward, Spencer. And that shirt was most unlovely.

Did we disappear into Emily's cleavage at some point?

Still think it was a bit of a cop-out for the girl to survive at the end, but hey, I'll forgive them. The saddest sight was poor Jeremy watching his evil parents being taken away.

Poor Hotch, sitting in the dark watching his little boy sleep. And having to beg to be allowed to do so. How much longer until he snaps?

I am excited about Rossi coming in. I love the current team dynamics, I love how much they support and understand each other, but before they all turn into the Waltons, it will be good to have them shaken up a bit.
