I hate not finishing books - I will usually plow on to the bitter end, but I couldn't with this. I got through 100 pages and gave up. I skipped through to the end to see what I had missed and it turned out to be precisely nothing, so I think the decision to stop was the right one.
Tedious, full of extraneous and pointless detail, cliched characters, dull prose, pointless and boring dialogue . . . not a great read at all and I am amazed that this has become such a bestseller. Stieg Larsson could have done with a good editor, but no amount of pruning could have disguised the fact that the characters were cliches and the plot yawnsome.
