Memoriam Speculation

Nov 11, 2008 11:15

Having watched the promo for Memoriam about a squillion times, in the spirt of true procrastination, I am going to give my theory on what is going to happen. Mainly so afterwards, people can point and laugh and say "You thought what??? Ha ha, you suck!"

pointless spoilery speculation )

I'm totally positive Uncle Daniel is there for a reason. And I would not be surprised if somebody did kill him, actually, but I also wouldn't be surprised if something else happened.

Killing himself feels a little too tidy for Criminal Minds, but you never know....

The thing is, I would imagine Reid's parents turning Uncle Daniel in, rather than taking it into their own hands. OTOH, a resourceful kid--

(No, I'm not seriously advancing that theory.)

If only there wasn't the molestation element, this would all be so much easier. I guess that could be a red herring also - Riley was molested at home and killed by somebody completely different.

A plus point for Uncle Dan killing himself is that he could be Diana's brother and have similar mental health problems. And having a parent and an uncle with schizophrenia is going to weigh heavy on Reid's mind and it would be perfectly plausible for him to be unaware of it - they know how much he worries anyway.

Indeed. It's also a plus point for Uncle Dan potentially being the killer.

I suspect they won't go for Reid as sexual-abuse-survivor. For one thing, they have done that plotline already, and two is a bit much. OTOH, if Riley was six and Spencer was four, Spencer might have been too young for the offender's preference. For now.

Yep, I don't think Reid was abused as a child - I agree with you that they've already been there.

Ooh, that makes sense.
