Tonari no 801-chan Gets Anime Short
Remember how Kyoto Animation was going to adapt the Tonari no 801-chan manga into an anime, but then things feel under? Well good news, because it's coming back! Well, sort of. All that's been green-lit so far is a 90-second "anime opening" animation. Yutaka Yamamoto, who has history with KyoAni & then went on to direct Kannagi after leaving them, will be directing this 801-chan R short.
While nothing has been said for sure yet, it seems that an actual anime series will eventually accompany this opening animation. No solid information is available on that yet, unfortunately. It does seem unlikely that Kyoto Animation will be signing on again to animate it though, especially now that Yamamoto is involved.
