We all know about live-action anime, but how about live-action manga? It may be hard to imagine at first, so you got to see to believe. "Excalibur Zero" is a fan-made film that takes real people & dresses them up in anime costumes. But the kicker is to take out all of the audio, & then add speech bubbles above all the characters' heads & sound-effect text appearing along the sides. "Excalibur Zero" is a little rough around the edges, but it really is an ambitious project & quite an ingenious one at that. I have to give major props to these guys. The film is broken up into 9 parts on YouTube, totaling about 90 minutes when all added together. Here's how they describe their project:
Remember the days of 8 bit games and awesome Japanese robot cartoons and shows? Excalibur Zero takes you back to that time with its unique style of storytelling. Combined with a Anime look and Manga format (Japanese Comic Books), this is one film you can't take your eyes off of. When evil alien forces attack earth, three school kids must form a friendship with an intergalactic team of heroes to save earth.
