Cheap Complete Vandread On Sale Now

FUNimation's rescue release of Vandread the complete series doesn't come out for another two weeks, but you don't have to wait any longer to get the entire series on the cheap. See, this actually isn't the first time a boxset for Vandread has been released. Several years ago before Geneon went under, they released a complete collection box for it as well. Only problem is, the thing cost close to $200 retail. But Vandread is one awesome series, so for some the price might very well be worth it.

Well with Funi's version of the complete series now on the horizon, online anime store RightStuf is now selling Geneon's old boxset (at least what they have left of the long out of print title) for the amazingly low price of $34.99! That's even cheaper than Funi's new version, which will be selling for $49.98 (though only $37.49 at RightStuf). The downside to this though is what you save in price you lose in shelf space. Funi's new release is ultra thin, cramming all 26 episodes into a case about the size of a standard, single DVD release. Geneon's old box is HUGE by comparison. It's the size of eight single DVD cases, since it literally has the eight original DVD single release cases inside of it.

So is it worth it buying a cheaper boxset (that's available now instead of two weeks) that's eight times thicker than the upcoming one? Well that's up to you to decide. Maybe if you're a big enough Vandread fan, having a large display box is better than a thin one since you can show your love for it in a grander way. If that's the case, than buy it before RightStuf sells out now. Because once they're gone, they're gone for good:
