Saimoe 08: Round 2, Day 1
Round 2 of the Saimoe Tournament is here at last! Round 1 seemed like it went on forever, but now here we are at the next level. & things kick off with a bang with last year's champion Rika Furude of "Higurashi Kai" fighting for her crown. But surprisingly, the champ is done! In a stunning upset, Haruka Minami of "Minami-ke" beat Rika by ONE vote. One single vote. It doesn't get any closer than that, people. Oh, & Kiri Komori of "Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei" was left in despair for not being a factor & coming in a distant third. I'm sure any Rika fans who forgot to vote are also in despair. Personally I'm happy about this. It'd be boring if Rika won again, or even came close to the finals. The sooner she got out the better.
But believe it or not, there was one other round today. Luna Edomae of "Seto no Hanayome" won her second round, beating out Coopa of "Tower of Druaga" & Potemayo of Potemayo." Poor, poor Coopa. There's always next year!
Tomorrow, two Nanoha girls go against each other! Yes, that's right! Fight amongst yourselves & get eliminated! Fuuko of Clannad might give them some competition, but Fate is one of the most popular Nanoha characters. In fact she was one of the best performers of round 1 by getting over 800 votes. So she'll probably win. Not much going on in the other bracket, so I guess I'll be rooting for Kirino of Bamboo Blade. She should be able to win it.
