Saimoe 08: Round 1B, Day 1
The A group has come to an end, so we move on to the B group in this first round of the Saimoe Tournament! Our first battle featured two Code Geass girls going head to head, but BOTH of them lost. Potemayo from "Potemayo" managed to beat both Shirley Fenette & Nunnally Vi Britannia of "Code Geass R2." I kinda expected Nunally to lose, since despite being a loli she is rather bland. But Shirley was a surprise, as I expected her to win. She was close, but it just wasn't enough. But to add insult to injury, she lost to a chibi character that doesn't even resemble an actual human. Nice job, Japan.
The other two rounds were a little more lackluster. Kirino Chiba (Bamboo Blade) beat out both Ume-sensei (Hidamari Sketch) & Ellis (El Cazador). I'm a bit found of Bamboo Blade, so I'm happy with this result. Ume is another ridiculous chibi-fied character that has no place in this tournament, yet scarily came in second place.
& finally, Mikan Yuuki (To LOVE-Ru) beat out Nadeshiko Yaeno (Nanatsuiro★Drops) & Makoto Kikuchi (Idolmaster series). Yay for some To Love-ru love!
Tomorrow sees the adorable Coopa from "Tower of Druaga" enter the competition! She may not be a "hot" loli, but she sure is a cute & moe one. We also have a Lucky Star character & a Familiar of Zero character enter the mix (all in different divisions), so let's hope they all win as well.
