Bones has responded to the
supposed leaked animator list document that was going around the net, which said that sequels to their FullMetal Alchemist & Darker than Black series were in the works. In their response, Bones said that the list was a fake & nothing like it exists in their office. So does that mean there wont be a second FullMetal Alchemist series after all? Not so fast, as there may be hope yet.
Trustworthy Japanese information site MoonPhase reports that they had received a tip several months ago about the possibility of a second FMA series, but was waiting for the right time to make the announcement. The tip said the new season would be officially announced at the end of the year, so he thought he had time to wait on it & see if anything more official came up. The tip also suggested that the new series would follow the original story of the manga, unlike the first season of FMA which followed a vastly different tale. In addition to all of this, Anime News Network got in touch with Bones & asked them about the possibility of new FullMetal Alchemist or Darker than Black, to which President Masahiko Minami responded with the following:
"It hasn't been decided yet. We are interested in doing them. As original science-fiction works, they were extremely fascinating. With these kinds of dramatic story lines, I feel that there's a lot we could do potentially."
