DVD of the Week

The releases start to pick up this week so that the companies have a lot of recent stuff to show off at Anime Expo, but to me at least there's still a lack of really good stuff. But one item that's come out this week that should definitely pick up (if you haven't yet) is the complete collection of Maburaho from ADV Films. Now granted, this is the second time the series has been released in thinpak form. & the only actual difference between this release & the one that came out last year is a different artbox, but as I said this is one series that should be seen if you haven't gotten around to it already. Well I should specify that it IS a fan-service series, which isn't really everybody's cup of tea.

Some other collections coming out this week is Papuwa from ADV, the first season of Emma from Right Stuf, & the first part of the Pokemon: Battle Frontier series. So if you like seeing edited, dub-only, kid-friendly anime, you might wanna pick up Pokemon. & then there's one other interesting title this week that also comes with a box, but isn't a complete collection. Enter volume 5 of Death Note from Viz Media! The deluxe edition holds a nice figure of Misa Misa in the aforementioned box, which you can add to all the other Death Note figures that have been released so far (if you're shelling out the big bucks for them, that is).
