Super Bowl = End of Eyeshield 21
When Eyeshield 21 started airing on Toonami Jetstream in December, no one thought it would be for such a short time. From then & until this week, a total of only 5 episodes aired on the website. But it soon became apparent that all the episodes were set to expire on the same day. February 4, the day after the Super Bowl. Considering the football theme of the series, this timing probably isn't accidental & was done so on purpose. But why take down the show so soon after only a handful of episodes? & why have them all expire at the same time?
It should also be noted that for a few weeks now, both Prince of Tennis & MegaMan: Star Force have also been removed from Jetstream. The reason for those two series is probably due to them being on hiatus while dubbing production catches up. (Although there is worry about PoT since no further DVDs have been scheduled, like many other Viz titles.) But cutting off Eyeshield 21 after a mere five episodes just doesn't seem right.
