Saimoe 2011: Madoka vs Mami
Winner: Mami (Madoka Magica)
It was a close match the entire day. One could even say it was... neck & neck? The final hour saw a giant rush for both "Madoka Magica" girls, but in the end, Mami was able to defeat god herself. & with that, the star character of the star series of this year's tournament is now gone. This really isn't the result I was hoping for, to be honest. I was kinda hoping that Madoka follow in the footsteps of her magical girl Saimoe sisters from yesteryear- Sakura of "CardCaptor Sakura" who won the very first Saimoe in 2002, & Nanoha of "Lyrical Nanoha" who won Saimoe 2005. It would have been quite epic if Madoka had been able to join such infamous mahou shoujo/Saimoe winners for such an honor. She definitely deserved it, but oh well. Full results:

& so for only the third time in Saimoe history, two girls from the same series will face each other in the final round! Both girls get a day to rest, as Saimoe takes one final day off today. But then it's on! Obviously my vote goes to Kyouko, who was my favorite girl from "Madoka Magica." However, Mami has consistently been the best performing Puella Magi of this tournament, so Kyouko really has her work cut out for her. I still think she can do it, though, & I really hope she does.
