Iron Man & Wolverine Anime Casting News

Apr 25, 2011 21:50

While we knew that the Iron Man anime would be premiering this July, Marvel & G4 broke big news at WonderCon by announcing that the Wolverine anime would also premiere at the same time. Meaning we can expect some sort of "Marvel Anime Power Hour," or something along those lines. However, the big news didn't just stop there. We now also know who'll be voicing our two titular leads, & they're both already "Heroes."

Adrian Pasdar, who played Nathan Petrelli on the live-action NBC series "Heroes," will be playing the voice of Tony Stark / Iron Man. His co-star Milo Ventimiglia, who played his brother Peter Petrelli on "Heroes," will be voicing Logan / Wolverine. Kinda weird how the casting worked out like that, huh?

While I can kinda understand their decision to cast well known actors in the leading roles instead of (relatively) unknown professional voice actors (movie studios have been doing this for years for their animated works), this still really sucks not to have Steve Blum voicing Wolverine. Two years ago I even called Blum a shoe-in to voice Wolverine since he's one of the best actors in the anime business AND is THE voice of the character for all of Marvel's animated works. Well, that's what they said. Looks like they changed their minds in this instance, though.
