Key's Rewrite Opening

It's been three years in the making, but soon Key's next major game Rewrite will soon be released to the masses in Japan. With only two months left to go, Key has decided to give fans a taste with the official opening video of their next big visual novel, as you can see here.

Rewrite is Key's fifth major video game release, following the path set by Kanon, Air, Clannad, & most recently 2007's Little Busters. It may have been awhile since they announced it, & even longer since the release of their last major title, but the folks at Key haven't just been sitting on their hands these past four years. During the time between Little Busters & Rewrite, they have released Little Busters Ecstasy (an 18+ version of the game), Kud Wafter (an eroge spin-off of LB that focused around the loli character Kud), and even an anime-original series Angel Beats!

It seems that, at least initially, Rewrite will be released as an all-ages game. But if Key follows their recent patterns, an 18+ eroge version will be released a year later. For now though, you'll just have to wait til June 24 for the first version of this long anticipated game to finally come out. A free demo is also available at the official website:
