Surprise of Haruhi Dated for May 25
Finally, at long last, the tenth Haruhi light novel- the Surprise of Haruhi Suzumiya- has a solid release date! Coming out four years after its initially planned release, the tenth book in the series will be published on May 25, 2011. Actually it'll be released as two separate books, a part 1 & a part 2, on the same day, combining to be about 600 pages long. Quite a lot for a "light" novel, & probably why it's being released in two parts. & let us not forget that "Surprise" itself is already a direct sequel to the ninth book in the series.
More interesting still is that the two-part book will reportedly see a simultaneous worldwide release, as 13 to-be-named countries will be releasing it on that faithful May 25 date. If true, it's pretty likely that the US is one of those countries. Which is odd considering we're only on the fourth book in the Haruhi series, with the fifth novel scheduled to be released in English in June of 2011. It'll be interesting to see how this turns out.
