Saimoe 2010: Yamada vs Azusa
Winner: Azusa (K-ON)
This year’s most surprising performer, Yamada of “Working,” was finally taken out by this year’s strongest performer, Azunyan of “K-ON!” Yamada & fans of “Working” should be proud, as she definitely outperformed expectations. I mean, beating Tenshi in Round 3? No matter what anyone says, that’s an accomplishment to be proud of. But the most moe girl of all time (seriously, major props to KyoAni for engineering the most perfect moe killing machine possible), Azusa Nakano, now becomes our last semifinalist. & while I expected Azunyan to crush Yamada even more than she did, it was the largest gapped victory of the quarterfinals, with our “K-ON” gal winning by over 300 votes. Here’s how it went down:

2nd 627 Aoi Yamada @ Working!
It's quite eerie how much our Final Four this year mirrors last year's. Once again, we have two "Saki" girls, a "K-On" girl, & a Rie Kugimiya tsundere. Of course, Nodocchi is the only one that's the exact same character, & never before has Saimoe had a repeating semifinalist. Likewise, having Nagi return to the semifinals for the first time in three years is also impossibly rare. I'm sure both of them aim to do better than their last time around, but Azunyan & Koromo aren't about to lie down either. But first, Saimoe will be taking a one-day break before moving on!
