Saimoe 2010: Round 2, Day 10

Sep 24, 2010 23:36

Winners: Mikoto (Scientific Railgun), Saten (Scientific Railgun)

As predicted, it was a double victory for the two powerful “Railgun” gals. However, both matches were MUCH closer than anticipated! Both Biribiri & Saten-san almost lost! 11 votes separated Saten from second-place Mugi, which was a very painful sight to see. Don’t get me wrong, I actually like Saten more than I like Mugi, but I like “K-ON” more than I like “Railgun.” & since the “K-ON” girls have now lost four straight matches here in Round Two without a single victory, they really deserved a win. Hopefully come tomorrow this will have changed, but more on that in a moment.

Surprisingly, Biribiri’s match was even closer. She won by TWO votes against Miyako from “Hidamari Sketch.” & once again the popularity of the “Hidamari” girls continues to bewilder me. Once again I much prefer Mikoto to her competition, but I think it would have been a really interesting upset if Miyako had actually won. Full results:

G1
1st 662 Mikoto Misaka @ A Certain Scientific Railgun
2nd 660 Miyako @ Hidamari Sketch
3rd 82 Shizuku @ Omamori Himari

H2
1st 657 Ruiko Saten @ A Certain Scientific Railgun
2nd 648 Tsumugi Kotobuki @ K-On!
3rd 100 Shouko Kirishima @ Baka To Test To Shoukanjuu

Oh man, three very powerful Saimoe girls competing against each other today, as it’s Momoko vs Poplar vs Azusa! Azunya may have had the highest vote count in Round One, but Stealth Momo got more votes than she did. Despite that though, I think Azunyan’s biggest threat to victory is Poplar. As both she & the “Working” faction have shown, we she should not underestimate them. She’s the mascot character & face of “Working” & is uber cute, & I actually like her quite a lot. But as everyone knows, Azunyan is my #1 pick to win this year, so she has my full support. That, & “K-ON” REALLY needs a victory here!

The other side is definitely less intense, as the lovely tsundere Fumino shouldn’t have too much trouble winning here due to her relatively weak competition. That’s not to talk about the lovely Amu, as she did very well for herself last year. But Fumino should have this one over her. As for Ai, I’m sure “Detective Conan” fans are just pleased she made it past Round One for the first time ever. =b
