Winners: Kanade (Angel Beats), Yui (Angel Beats)
Wow, what a match! Not only did both "Angel Beats" girls win, but they shattered the old Round One record for this year in the process! Both managed to get over 600 votes, clearly sending a message that the AB faction means SERIOUS business in this year's tournament. & yet, despite their extremely high turnout, it was actually very close in both battles. Both girls had very tough opponents, each of which ALSO broke the old record by getting well over 500 votes. I can understand Inami from "Working" getting a lot of support, but I'm surprised Index did so well considering she only had brief cameos in "Railgun." Whatever the case, "Angel Beats" finally stepped up to the plate for the first time this year & showed that they might be the series to beat. Full results:

Surprisingly, it's taken this long for "Kampfer" to make its debut match. In truth I'm unsure how much support the franchise has in this tournament, so I don't know if Kaede has what it takes to win, or if Evangeline from "Negima" has what it takes to win. The "Negima" franchise is getting up there in age, but Eva is one of the more popular girls from the series. Really curious to see how this one turns out.
On the other side we have Jun from "K-ON!" Now of course she has an advantage simply being from "K-ON," but I also wouldn't be surprised if she's managed to garner a loyal fanbase over these past five months despite being a more minor character. Her biggest threat is the adorable lesbian loli Lisa from "Sacred Blacksmith." As much as I like Jun, I'm gonna have to go with Lisa on this one, & she might actually has what it takes to win too.
