At their Anime Expo panel this weekend, Tokyopop announced a number of new manga licenses. They were mostly smaller & unknown titles, but look to be an interesting bunch. They include Secret Notes of Lady Kanoko (Warau Kanoko-sama), Lives, Puzzle+, & Hekikai no AiON. In addition, they licensed two new books as well- the Chibi Vampire Official Fan Book (yay for more Karin!), as well as "Cabin in the Woods: Land of the Rising Terror" (based on the film by Joss Whedon). All of these titles are expected to come out in early 2011.
But perhaps the most exciting piece of news at the panel came in the form of a little tidbit mentioned on the side, & something that likely doesn't even involve Tokyopop themselves. The panelists hinted that the Sailor Moon manga has been licensed by someone. That's right, it's beginning to look like the original classic story will finally be getting a proper English release! Details should be forthcoming, & hopefully soon.
