Most Famous Seiyuu in Japan

Apr 04, 2010 00:35

A recent survey asked over 20,000 Japanese citizens to name & recognize anime & video game voice actors, in order to determine who the most famous seiyuu in the land truly were. But since this was a question posed to the general public rather than just otaku & anime fans, a whopping 56% of respondents couldn't name a single one. As for those who could name a seiyuu, the top five results were all female:

  1. 34% Nana Mizuki (Wrath in FMA, Fate in Lyrical Nanoha, Hinata in Naruto)
  2. 23% Aya Hirano (Haruhi in Haruhi Suzumiya, Konata in Lucky Star, Katja in Qwaser)
  3. 13% Maaya Sakamoto (Takada in Death Note, Hitomi in Escaflowne, Mari in Rebuild of Evangelion)
  4. 12% Romi Park (Hitsugaya in Bleach, Edward in FMA, Temari in Naruto)
  5. 10% Rie Kugimiya (Shana in Shana, Louise in Familiar of Zero, Taiga in ToraDora)
The two top male seiyuu, Kenichi Suzumura (Kouichi in Digimon, Hikaru in Ouran, Okita in Gintama) & Mamoru Miyano (Light in Death Note, Setsuna in Gundam 00, Kiba in Wolfs Rain), both tied with 8%.
