While chronicling the best-selling manga in America for 2009, ICv2 is also looking into the future. It shouldn't come as a surprise that due to the state of the market that there will be fewer manga releases in 2010 than last year. But exactly how much fewer is what's surprising- an expected 13% drop, meaning that for the first time since 2004 there will be under 1,000 volumes released this year. With the major exception of Yen Press (which is increasingly expanding its manga library after each passing year), every other manga publisher out there will be releasing fewer volumes during 2010 than the past few years.
But enough about what lies ahead. Let's take a look at what performed best last year. The results shouldn't be too surprising:
