Sentai Licenses Maria Holic & Skull Man

Ever since Section23 formed, they've been doing two things right- licensing a good amount of anime in a very short time, & releasing them in even shorter time. The newest batch of series by them & their partner Sentai Filmworks are "Maria Holic" & "Skull Man."

"Maria Holic" aired just earlier this year in Japan, & is about a girl who transfers to an all-girl school because of her fear of men. It is there she meets the yuri love of her life, who happens to be a cross-dressing boy. Yes, this is a trap anime, & quite a popular one among fans of this recently surging genre. The complete 12-episode set will go on sale February 23 for $39.98.

"The Skull Man" is a modern day remake of the classic horror manga by Shotaro Ishinomori (Kamen Rider, Cyborg 009, Kikaider) from the 1970s. The story is about a masked man committing horrendous murders in an alternate history of Japan. The complete 13-episode set goes on sale February 2 & also retails for $39.98.

Finally, Section23 also announced that Part 2 of To Love-Ru will go on sale February 16, also retailing for $39.98. I think it goes without saying at this point that all of these releases are sub-only.
