Life in general

Ok, it's been a while since I've updated, so I'll try to recap what's been going on, probably in some random mixed up order, but hey, whateva!

Fraternity Issues
So yeah, all this semester and most of last semester I spent the weekend and Thursday going to Theta Chi. It is a fun place, filled with some great people. The first semester I expected to get a bid, since I had been down there a lot, I had even gone down quite a bit second semester freshman year too. I was disappointed. I checked the mailbox at the designated time, no bid. My roomy and some of the brothers told me to keep trying, that I just didn't know enough of the guys. Fair enough I guess. Then, this semester, I went to every single party, rush event, Thursday night there was, and even Girl's Pick-Up Day I spent the night there and drank all night and morning. So, needless to say, I knew all their names, even though I didn't know every single brother completely. But most guys who pledge don't know everyone completely either, that's why they pledge. So this semester I thought the bid was surely gonna come. Oh wait...more disappointment. Now, this was getting old, so I wondered what excuse they had this time for not giving me a bid. Oh, I guess a few of the brothers have personal grudges against me. Maybe Tom Sergi hates me for something I said last semester while I was drunk (don't remember), and maybe Matt Boccardi hates me because I started spending time with Leah around the same time he decided he wanted to get to know her too, even though he was dating Amanda V. at the time...perhaps they have friends that voted against me too, well, whatever. That is high school bullshit and I don't deal with that. I still like the cool brothers there, and will probably go hang out with them after I mellow out some. But I've become resigned to the fact that they won't let me in.

A New Plan
Alright, this could be a bad idea, but I decided to see what happens. I used to go to Phi Tau a lot freshman year with my old roommate Ben Smith. The brothers there are pretty cool, despite what people say about them being creepy or crazy drunkards. That's fine with me :) So I decided to run on over there last night and see what was up. I walked over with Wes, who is Jolene's son in APhiO, and I visited with Smitty some. It was a fun time, I played 3 games of beer pong, won one of them haha. I remembered a lot of their names from before, like Pat, Russ, the Dobbins, Gallagher, McClelland, Jordan, Hix, and of course Ben. I remembered a lot of faces, and put a few names to faces before the night was over. I also saw Dino and son James there, and Lauren and Abby, so it was cool. I might think about seeing if they give me a bid, if they don't, I still have friends at both houses now, so we'll see what happens. I just think Phi Tau might be a bit more willing to accept new members.

Ok, Back to Basics
Alright, enough fraternity stuff, how is my life doing? It's quite alright actually. I have been doing good in my classes, and they seem to be pretty easy. Geography is a little bit tough because of having to memorize so much, but other than that, it is sweet. I had to work with a German girl on Wednesday...reminded me of talking to Sabrina, only Nadine is only staying a few weeks to observe an American College with her friend (bf??) Niko. My Teaching Science and Technology night classes are really fun, only once a week for 3 hours each, and fairly easy. We play mostly in both, with fun stuff in Teaching Science, and computers in Tech. Math class is pretty easy as well, and I did good on our first test. Religion is still as crazy as ever, with no tests or quizzes yet, just straight up discussion. The cool thing is that whenever I don't read, I just don't go to class, becuz I wouldn't be able to discuss. So I've skipped a couple of those for that reason. The discussions can get fairly deep and weird at times, but that's ok.

Friends
I have a lot of great friends around here. The one I've been closest to this semester is Jolene. She has been a great listener and a good companion on trips home, trips to go eat, or just randomness! She basically was my Valentine this year, other than mom, hehe. I hope for the best for her every day, and value the friendship we have.
I can't wait to see the gang from home too though! Miss you GAFs!

Valentine's Day
This was an interesting one...I started the day working 3-5 in McGill library, then I went straight over to the Shortstop Inn in downtown New Wilmington to meet mom for dinner. The place was very homey, and reminded me of a kitchen dinner. I got a half rack of ribs and some wedding soup, it was all really good. I saw Rich Marmura and Pat Sandora, brothers at Theta Chi, but I don't think they saw me, *shrugs* After dinner, we went to Mugsies and played a game of checkers, which I won quickly. I also ordered a drink called a Shot in the Dark. The lady behind the counter couldn't have been 10 years older than me and said, "That's an unusual choice for someone of your age." I'm thinking, wtf, do you think I'm 15 or something, I'm almost 20!!! It was a strong espresso drink so I put cream and sugar in it and all was well. Then I headed towards Brad's house and played Risk and poker with Eric, Omar, Wigg, Mark and Tammy. It was a fun night. Then Jolene came over and we hung out watching TV. At 2:30AM the fire alarm goes off though...and we all went outside. We saw Kim and Bryan hanging out, and I noticed Amy was with Chris Z. it always makes me feel weird to see people I was close to with other people, but oh well. We had to wait outside for like 15 minutes, in the freezing wind, then they let us go in the lobby. Eventually at 3:30AM they let every floor except 2nd go back to their rooms. I guess someone had sprayed fire extinguisher all over the walls and pulled the fire alarm too. Damn drunks! So yeah, it was rather exciting!

The Saga Continues
So yeah, I'm still the Chaplain of APhiO, which means I gotta go home today and make my suggestion box. We had our first official exec meeting in the OSC and it ended up being worthwhile, and I'm excited for all the stuff our board has planned. Also, I was elected treasurer of the Gospel Choir, which is sweet, although I don't have any real power at all, lol. As far as gospel choir goes, we had our first performance at chapel, and it went really good :) And symphonic band is having our concert this Friday, which is going to be a really good concert I believe. Baritones got some sweet running solos on Sea Songs. !!

Alright, that's the majority of what's been going on...I thought I'd give you all an update, since I've been kinda distant about what's been going on lately...

PEACE OUT!
