Hotel Dusk

I haven't had a chance to log a lot of hours into Hotel Dusk but I've played over an hour into the game and it is quite awesome.

Lemme first say what everyone else is saying, "Its the Return of the Point and Click!"

Seriously, its old school computer gaming on the Nintendo DS. But lemme say I grew up on Maniac Mansion and Zak McKraken and the Alien Mindbenders on the Commodore 64. And the Kings Quest games for the PC.

Hotel Dusk is a lot cooler to play with the stylus. Very easy to navigate and clicking on icons such as the magnifying glass to view specific objects could not be easier by using a Pen.

I really enjoy interrogating the residents of the Hotel. When a pointy hand appears, you click on it and you can start grilling these people/suspects and their responses are hilarious.

So yeah, there is a lot of reading too, but I dont mind because the game is very well written.

The main character is funny too.

This game is very Noir.. detective type stuff and the main character plays that role well. Kinda sarcastic, Kinda Dick-ish. Completely likable.

The artwork is also quite beautiful. Its like a hand drawn comic book come to life with pages ripped out and crumpled up and repasted on the screen. Very cool looking stuff.

Like I said, I haven't played much, I've only really played through one puzzle (which was easy), but I'm assuming the puzzles will get harder. And if they don't, I don't mind. This game is so different from anything that I've played in the last 15 years that I'm loving it!

Buy it and experience the love.
