i spent the evening falling in love with cornelius's wife Takako Minekawa.
her albums are really hard to describe. they have that cuteness that jpop has but waaaaaay more soul. they are so eclectic and adorable that i will probably get really awesome cancer by listening to them. they are going straight to the ipod. cornelius married a really amazing lady.
the rest of the evening was spent listening to grandaddy. a buddy of mine and last.fm kep screaming at me to listen to them; assuring me that i would like them. in fact i really do dig them, they seem like a more lo-fi and weepy version of pavement. at their best their sound is a lot more centered than pavement at it's worst (cough) crooked rain (cough).
