My Easter Bank Holiday Monday and Other News

Yesterday was a pretty awesome day, when I did my weigh in in the morning the scales have actually moved off the 88.something mark on to 87.7kg, this excited me completely as they'd been stuck on the two 8s for sixteen days which had started to become annoying.
Gym was pretty epic, my husband came along with me as Angelica was out with her new boyfriend. We had a sort of brunch on the way I kept saying he needed to eat something or he'd be unable to lift the weights machines or do anything much at all, when we arrived it was quite amusing because he was shocked how I just steamed straight into the workout routine as set by my trainer and found it incredibly difficult to keep up or complete the whole routine only managing half of it. We finished off the just over an hour session with a run around the athletics track again and I became slightly annoyed that my right shoe felt like it was falling off all the way around.

On the way home I had to pick up some stuff for dinner so as the car was parked next to a sports shop I decided to go in and get my feet measured again, yep, I've gone down a whole shoe size since January, so that's three shoe sizes since I started this journey now 15 months ago, that is pretty amazing.

I searched and searched all over the shelves for some running shoes whilst in there, wanted to try some on just to see how they felt. In the end I settled on six pairs but when the man bought them all out of the back for me to try on, I went straight for these, they fitted like a glove and running up and down the aisle of the shop they felt like mine already so I bought them without trying on the rest.

Nike Dual Fusion Ladies Running Shoes
utilise mesh panels to the upper designed to encourage air flow and offer maximum breathability coupled with the Nike Fitsole sockliner for added support to the foot. These Nike running shoes benefit from Dual Fusion technology to the midsole and heel offering lightweight, responsive cushioning and enhanced stability, finally the flex grooves to the outsole offer a more natural range of motion during and the waffle grip pattern offers durable traction.

Feeling quite excited about these I'm going to test them out this afternoon by doing a short cardio workout at the gym and then finishing off with a jog around the track which I am really looking forward to doing now I have correctly fitting underwear and shoes!

Getting correctly fitting underwear has now become a once every three week affair, I've been shrinking and experiencing body shape changes so regularly that attempting to do anything whilst my underwear is moving about independently is annoying so I've had to order the next size down every three weeks or so. Its meant that I've gone from a size 32 - 34 originally fifteen months ago to a now size 14 swimsuit and knickers, the last time I bought this size pants I was like 15 years old, that is and feels phenomenal to me, mega exciting as well.

Also in other news, now that I'm not a wheelchair user I've decided not to go for disability living allowance at the higher rate again when mine is up for renewal in about four weeks time, this means we will have to give up our movability car. This was a giant decision but the right one for us so now we've been saving like mental for another funeral limo, this also feels like the right decision for us as none of us actually wanted to give up on our last one which we lovingly maintained for just under eight years. Living in the south east now there are several new options opened up to us that simply didn't exist in the north, so this time the car should be pretty easy to upkeep as the scrap yards for parts like seats, switches, fuses, cables etc will be plenty. There is also a very nice Ford dealer about three minutes away for brakes and other vitals so we are all getting quite excited about this new adventure. I think I've already found the car for us, will keep looking as we've given ourselves two more weeks as a deadline for the money to be raised, we are half way there already which is fantastic, its been a proper family pulling together effort to get this far and I feel utterly proud of everyone for chipping in to make this work together. More on the new to us car later but needless to say everyone is excited and rightly so.

I've not been swimming now for four weeks, it feels strange but welcome at the same time. My local pool is freezing, swimming club on a Friday has been awkward since Joe's uni timetable change and therefore as I've been pouring all my efforts into gym sessions I've not had the mind to go into the water. That said, last week I did go to aqua fit class which was pretty amazing so Angelica and I will do that again tonight together. I've had to have proper words with her last night because her and her new boyfriend are hopeless at time keeping, not once have they made it home by the deadline time they'd been given. One more chance I think then we'll really have to crack down if she still does not listen to us about that, as what is the point of setting a time limit if they both just ignore us as her parents.

This morning's sunrise was so beautiful, I sat watching it from the back upstairs bathroom window and it reminded me of that Golden Windows story I loved as a little girl where the person always loved a house at the top of a hill with golden windows and wanted so badly to get there to be in the house with the golden windows. Once there though they turned around looking back down the hill and saw their own house lit up with golden windows that they never knew or realised they had until it was too late and they'd left. Made me again feel really happy and blessed to be living here, that we as a family did this together and that its all working out in ways none of us could have ever imagined in such a short space of time with the better healthcare system this end of the country amongst other positive changes available to all of us here.

Its still really early in the morning at the moment so I think I'm going to snuggle up in the warm bed with my little boy, gosh he is so cute the things he talks about these days so articulately astound me. I am so truly blessed.
