...... we'd moved in!
After spending four weeks here, I now feel I can state all the things I have noticed which are significantly different about living in the south east as a mother of six than the north east of England. Here is the list in no particular order :
a) Loads more things on offer for the kids to take part in, there is literally ( Read more... )

So good to hear from you its been ages :)

It was a giant step, I have been pushing for this since 2006 but my family wasnt keen as like yours despite everything negative that was happening, they had become settled. In the end though it came down to me simply insisting I wasnt staying there any more because whilst they were all doing things and were making slow progress I never would there so was going to look for a house exchange no matter what. It was heart wrenching when I did find this place firstly trying to discuss it with my husband then the kids, as soon as he saw it though, Mason fell in love with the idea and couldnt understand what had taken him so long to see things from my way of thinking, the kids younger ones were no problem they got excited but the older three it was a constant argument until finally Joseph decided to give it a go, Angelica got happy and Lionel refused to come. But now there isnt a day that goes by where he hasnt said he feels like he'd made a mistake and should have stayed with us instead so there is hope he may transfer his place at uni for next year down here as it truly is much better in all aspects.

So I do understand what you are experiencing right now with your family, perhaps like us if you found a place first then you have something solid to offer up as a reason for going?

((( hugs )))

Helen, this is so wonderful. I love all the amenities they offer around you now. Petrol and electric alone are massive changes. The other family will hate it now for switching. It will take them a bit to find this out though. It sounds like everything is for the right reasons and it is all falling in place so wonderfully. Except for the peepers you had the other day and I assume that was taken care of quickly too. We have had that here once and the police dealt with it right away. It was my neighbors house not mine but they took care of it for her.
Keep on enjoying your new house and location. You have the Holidays coming up quickly and that will fast become home once that occurs. Nothing like having the traditions plus more decorating to drive it home that this is home now and comfort will be there from then on.
I've been praying for Lionel. The change for him is still a good thing. It is heart wrenching but good for growing up to become the man he is. He is now seeing what those responsibilities are and with his girlfriend what it will be like to strike out soon for himself and start a family. We raise them up in a safe and secure environment so they can branch out and start their own families, especially with the boys becoming men.
Congratulations on such a seamless move and transition.
