[If anyone's traveling in the vicinity of House 26, they might take notice of the little garden that's steadily been popping up outside over the past few weeks. [Harry is fascinated by the plants growing around the house, and while things are weird with Neville right now, Harry would at least like to see it.]

How are they coming along?

Harry's always made ALL KINDS OF SENSE before this!

They'll be fully grown in a month or so, I'd wager. [Neville murmurs absently before turning his head to meet Harry properly] Best I can do with the resources here. [This is Neville deliberately not touching any of the more sensitive subjects.]

But his life is completely insane.

[Harry nods. He's not big on Herbology, but there's something nice about having magical plants around the house.] What kind of plants are they? [Good Neville! Harry doesn't want to talk about them either.]

WONDERFULLY insane. The kind of insane people tell stories about.

[It makes the patch of earth feel like home. Home is desperately needed.] I'm not clear on all the Muggle names for what I'm using, but if all goes well we should have some knotgrass and dittany first and foremost. Maybe spiky bushes to help the house's defenses. I tried transfiguring some mandrake bulbs earlier, but that didn't really go so well...

Richer than the queen insane. It's amazing.

[Exactly. Harry's always wanted a home.] Dittany? That's brilliant! Now we'll be able to have it around if any of us get injured or something. [He's peering down to get a better look at the plants.] They don't have much in the way of magical plants here, do they?

That's the plan, at least. It's done us a lot of good back at Hogwarts, so why not here? [But he might be exaggerating, since this is DH-Neville with the fairly intense facial scarring he doesn't bother noticing. The dittany probably all goes to the girls who're all touchy about that appearance stuff.] Not really. But that doesn't mean we can't crossbreed our own! It's all photosynthesis in the end, right?

It is positively awesome.

We've been using it quite a bit on our trip. [Harry has noticed that scarring, but since he knows how it gets when fighting evil, he hasn't really asked.] ... I guess so? I'm not entirely sure how it would work.

Or at least awesomely positive.

[Harry's had other things on his mind besides, with all that going completely mental and all.] I think it's a bit like making muggleborns out of plants. [He grins a bit at his own humor.]

The good vs. evil part maybe. The last few books are a whole heap of depressing.

[Well unfortunately she's not here right now. So congratulations on getting the point without her help!] You got it, Harry! Maybe we can use it to teach Malfoy some tolerance if he's going to be living so close.

[Harry Potter and the Sudden Appearance of Brain Cells!] Er... what about clowns? There's this really creepy bloke that comes around sometimes wearing clown make-up.

I don't know if we're got enough room for all THOSE. Maybe a big tablet with some names on it. XD

[They had to grow in sooner or later!] Clowns? ...I can't think of anything that has any anti-creepy properties to it, Harry. What's so wrong about him?

We'll have plenty of room once we kill all the rocks that fell and killed everyone!

[Later. Definitely later.] There's this one guy named Kefka. I haven't seen him too often, but he asked me about my "magical aura" once and then attacked me another time when I was with... [Wait, let's not go there.] ... a friend. This house is plenty warded, but I'd rather keep him away from everyone.
