jun/ohno; red envelopes in Maounotes: not beta. it's not exactly envelopes, bb. but an envelope. hope it's fine with you. inspired by this ongoing whatnots on text messaging. :Db
A red envelope stared unblinkingly to Jun and it never looked more intimidating than now, Jun observed. He tucked his legs closer to him, the manga slipped an inch in his lap as he shifted. He gazed at Ohno through thick rimmed glasses, Arashi's leader stared back blankly at the said object. Only if the older man didn't show any contortions in his face, Jun would have dismissed the entire matter.
Apparently, he hates seeing Ohno agitated and it does not help if he doesn't do anything about it.
"When did you receive it?" Jun flipped a page, trying to be uninterested.
"Just this morning," the other mumbled, his frown deepened.
"I see."
This is bad. After their years together, Ohno wouldn't have responded immediately. While spaced out. This matter, not at all pressing but bothersome nonetheless, got into Ohno than he expected.
"Why would someone send me such a thing?"
His eyes caught Ohno leaning back to the couch, arms crossed against his chest.
"A big fan of your drama, I suppose?" Jun said, trying to be reasonable and comforting at the same time.
"Jun," Ohno faced the younger man, voice soft and serious, "receiving red envelopes in the drama means a death threat."
Jun heaved out his objection, "It's not like your character didn't receive any red envelopes. I mean he didn't die right then and there when it was given to him."
Ohno wouldn't be convinced. He adjusted his position, sat on his heels at Jun's direction and placed his hands on Jun's knees.
"That was Naruse-san, not me," frowned some more, "and how would this fan send this mail to me unless he was stalking me."
Jun arched a brow.
"In our line of work, having stalkers are common."
"But I haven't been threatened before."
Jun gave him a look against Ohno's face of deep alarm and concern.
"Did you even bother opening it?" Jun offered exasperatedly.
"I did," the younger man eyed the older man gently, ushering him to continue, "it was...disturbingly..."
"Disturbingly?"
"Amusing."
Jun has an incoming headache going on at the back of his head. He pressed on.
"And you feel threatened?"
"Yeah," Ohno's forehead creased together at the middle, "and humored as well."
Jun closed the manga and was about to give up if not with the man's hands on his knees and shook them for attention.
"Red envelopes are death threats in the drama, right? Then that means I'm being threatened. But surprisingly though..." He trailed off in thought.
"What is it?"
Ohno grabbed the envelope on the low table, pulled out a tarot card which looks the same as the card Serizawa's lawyer and Naoto received in the series. Neat strokes of combined Japanese characters inscribed at the back of the card.
"I'll read it to you if that's what it takes for you to believe me."
Jun waited.
He shuffled closer to Jun.
"Once I catch you," Ohno started, deep and hoarse, "I'll take you to bed."
Jun blinked.
"I'll make you hot," it does became relatively warmer, Jun admitted, "I'll make you sweat."
Jun tried to evade Ohno's penetrating gaze as he shifted them after reading a line.
"I'll make you groan," something felt unbearably tight, Jun bit his lip, "I'll make you tired."
He didn't notice that the distance between him and Ohno was amazingly short. He shifted for comfort.
"You will wish," it's suffocatingly hard to breath, Jun swallowed nervously, "You never had me."
He breathed out a moan beyond his will and he gazed embarrassingly elsewhere.
"Flu," Ohno finished.
Jun snapped his head back quickly to Ohno, "W-what?"
"It's from a flu so the joke says," Ohno allowed a smile.
"A-A joke?"
"But, Jun," he nudged Jun, "I don't know who sent this. That's disturbing. Maybe I should take this seriously."
Ohno flailed his arms in panic as if it's the end of the world while Jun gazed intensely to Ohno.
"What do you think?"
Suddenly, Jun lurched forward and pinned the older man on the sofa. And kissed Ohno senseless.
"W-Wait," Ohno whined as they broke apart for air, "what about the envelope? I'm being threatened, Jun-kun."
Jun nipped the line of Ohno's jaw and said,
"I'll show you threat."
And Ohno smirked. Inwardly.
Thank goodness for prank letters.
