L is coming.

L had found a way to travel through space and time and is coming here to catch Kira. He commented that he hopes the three of us (me, himself, and Mello) can all work together to solve this case.

Mello seems to believe I am in love with him. I'm not quite sure why. Odd...

I don't think Mello is capable of loving anyone. He doesn't seem to be the type of person to open himself up emotionally to anyone. To do so is to be vulnerable, a thing Mello loathes.

I asked Hal about it today to see what she thought.

Me: Hal, do you think Mello is capable of loving anyone?
Hal: *looking at me oddly* ... I think so. He loved his parents once, didn't he?
Me: That's not the type of love I meant.
Hal: ... *carefully* ..why do you ask, Near?
Me: .....
Hal: .....
Me: ..... ;
Hal: ... *smiles* I think if the right person came along, Near, he just might.
Me: ...thank you for your input, Miss Hal.
Hal: *smiling* anytime.

So apparently, Mello *could* fall in love, but it is highly, highly unlikely that he ever will.

However...

There is still a chance.
