It's been a good week.
I got to see the Gladwins the night before last, which is a rare treat nowadays... We got so used to seeing each other every day around the clock over the summer, and it had been a good while. Due for a night of debauchery and fun times. The Westfield bar scene has never been cooler.
And tonight, I saw a movie with one of my best friends. It's days (nights) like these that make working so much worthwhile. The moments may be relatively rare, but they're ever so much more special. Especially when I have enough money to spend on a night out. Besides, working so much only fills in the spaces when I can't be with my family.
I can't wait for this Sunday. Andy and I (and potentially Derek) will be attending the Decemberists concert in Northampton. Afterward, we plan to retire to another night of fun up in Amherst, since I don't have to work on Monday.
I've worked a total of 34 hours so far this week, and I haven't even started Thursday. In the morning, I will face the true test of my manliness. I've had little sleep thus far, and it looks like I'll get a whole two and a half hours tonight (this morning) before my 17-hour shift starts at 6am. As long as I don't sleep through my alarm, I should be fine after a few cups of coffee.
Things will be better once the truck's back on the road.
Goodnight.
