Kitty put this up on her journal, so I thought, why not. :)
STEP ONE
Make a post Journal. The post should contain your list of ten holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a ______ icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("all I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV."). The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ or link to this post so that the holiday joy will spread.
STEP TWO
Surf around your friends list (or friends' friends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now, here's the important part:
If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use -- do it.
You need not spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf -- to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not -- it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Give, and you might receive. and you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
If you want further contact info, my email is in my profile! (Hotmail or yahoo is fine =B)
1) Money, or otherwise so I can get a couple of my pieces matted and framed.
2) Handmade scarves and hats. I'm a sucker for them, and can always use more. xD
3) Mixed CDs - if anything, getting mixed CDs from people helps me expand my musical knowledge. I love being exposed to artists I don't know.
4) A cat. Okay, I know it'll never happen until I'm out on my own, but I can be honest, right?
5) Lessons on how to play the fiddle. Nuff said.
6) Any donations in order to buy art supplies and pass them on to disadvantaged children. It's just an idea I've been toying with, and being that I work at an art supply store, and something I do feel passionate about (art for children). I don't have enough information to figure out what organization I could donate the stuff to, but I would like to get something started.
7) Thigh high striped socks. In any colour scheme. =B
8) A new car. Imma be honest; figuring out transportation for two people with two completely different schedules and one car is not fun.
9) A story/poem, or similar. I love getting written work by other people, ones that I know, especially.
10) Time. Just time to spend with friends and family; I haven't been able to really spend time with a lot of friends lately, and I've missed it. -shrug- Even if it's just an hour or two over coffee.
